- Graphic Design Utility readme file
-
- The GDU is a program I put together that was supposed to have the elements
- I wanted in a game designers program. It is at least part way there.
-
- This readme file contains very little information. The program is incomplete,
- but if there is enough interest I'll probably fill in the gaps and
- produce something a little more solid. A number of the menu functions do
- not operate, so ignore them (unless you want them, in which case you'll have
- to tell me).
-
- Basically, the program allows you to create sprites (and test animation
- sequences) and game boards (and make the boards up).
-
- Take a look at the code to see what the file formats are; things are pretty
- simple.
-
- Clicking on 'mode' enters the game board design; this only works on size 16
- sprites. Use the arrow keys to scroll the screen. Click the right mouse
- button for the menu.
-
- Clicking on 'test' enters the sprite animation tester. You can click on a
- series of sprites and the program will cycle them. Click more than once on a
- particular frame to delay the amount of time it is on the screen.
-
- 'Expt' lets you print the sprites.
-
- Usually when a menu is given at the bottom of the screen, the rightmost
- selection will be used if you click off the menu.
-
- P.S. This just goes to show you what you can whang together in a weekend
- with GFA. Great language!
